Historic Jackson Brewery warehouse caught on fire - The Cincinnati Enquirer

CINCINNATI (FOX19) -An abandoned warehouse, built-in 1850, was caught on fire in Over-the-Rhine early Sunday morning, said Assistant Fire Chief Thomas Lakamp.

Lakamp says they were called to a second fire alarm at 4:20 a.m. in the 200 block of Mohawk Street.

At least 60 firefighters were on the scene fighting the fire from the 3-story building. Companies have also taken a position on all four corners of the building in fear of a collapse.

“Access is an issue. We were not wanting to put firefighters in front of the building in fear of collapse. So they are operating from the corners, just actually getting to all areas that are on fire has made it difficult," said Lakamp. “The guys have done a great job getting their ladder pipes set up and their master stream set up and have actually made a lot of progress in the last three hours.”

Lakamp says parts of the roof of the building have collapsed, but the walls remain.

Crews are still on the scene working to put out the fire out.

No injuries have been reported.
