Construction underway on first of 2 massive warehouses that could total more than 2.1 million square feet - PennLive

A massive warehouse is currently under construction in Cumberland County that will be part of the Penn Commerce Center, which is situated on 160 acres of land, and is expected to include two warehouses that can include up to a combined 2,166,273 square feet of space.

The Transwestern Development Company is building an 807,998-square-foot warehouse at 951 Centerville Road in Penn Township near Newville just off of exit 37 on Interstate 81. The warehouse has the potential to be expanded to 1,413,273 square feet. The facility will have around 138 dock doors, 305 trailer spaces and 593 parking spaces.

Construction began in October and is expected to be completed in June. There is no tenant at this point and the building is available for lease.

The second warehouse at 753,000 square feet has also been approved by the township. That warehouse will have around 132 dock doors, 185 trailer spaces and 361 parking spaces.

Cushman & Wakefield, the commercial real estate company marketing the property says that the center is located within a one day’s drive of 35 percent of the U.S. population and 50 percent of the Canadian population.

Transwestern Development Company develops office, industrial, multifamily, mixed-use and healthcare projects throughout the United States. The Transwestern Development Company is based in Houston Texas and its closest offices to the midstate are in Washington D.C. and Florham Park, New Jersey.
