Liquor distributor buys Olean warehouse - Buffalo News

The Batavia liquor marketer that recently bought Certo Brothers Distributing Co. has acquired an office and distribution facility in Olean from an Amherst-based radiation regulatory and consulting firm.

Wright Beverage Distribution paid $800,000 to acquire the 63,000-square-foot facility at 243 Root St. in Olean from Amherst-based MJW Technical Services, according to Waterbourne Real Estate Advisors, whose principals handled the deal.

Built in 1966, the one-story Class B building sits on 3.4 acres, and includes four loading docks. It's two-thirds occupied by Logistics Plus, with two other small tenants, and nearly 21,000 square feet of vacant space, according to Waterbourne.

Wright, which was founded in 1953, acquired the century-old Certo Brothers of West Seneca in October, for an undisclosed price. Certo, established in 1912, employed 200 and distributed Molson and Pabst beer, as well as wine and spirits. Prior to the deal, Wright employed 400 had operations in LeRoy, Rochester, Seneca Falls and on Lawrence Bell Drive, but the purchase did not include Certo's operation on North America Drive.

MJW, a 30-year-old company, works with clients to understand and comply with nuclear and radiological regulations, while measuring and controlling radiation exposure to protect workers, the public and the environment.
