Man charged with arson in Over-the-Rhine brewery warehouse fire - The Cincinnati Enquirer

A Fairview man was arrested Friday in connection with the fire that caused $500,000 of damage to a historic Over-the-Rhine brewery warehouse.

Andre Dargahi, 23, is charged with aggravated arson and breaking and entering in the blaze that heavily damaged the historic Jackson Brewery warehouse built in 1850.

Investigators said evidence on social media connected Dargahi to the fire on Mohawk Street.

According to court documents, propane tanks were intentionally moved closer to an area close to where the fire was set so the blaze would spread faster.

The fire broke out on Dec. 15 around 4:20 a.m. At least 60 firefighters rushed to the scene to battle to the two-alarm fire.

Portions of the roof collapsed. Fire officials said they had to be extremely cautious not to get caught in the building.

Officials said the building was vacant and under renovation at the time of the fire.

According to court documents, Dargahi lives less than a mile from the warehouse.

He is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center awaiting trial. He is expected to appear in court Saturday.
